Ein neues Mitglied, Freiherr August Falkner von Sonnenburg, Leiter der in N\u00fcrnberg neu gegr\u00fcndeten Niederlassung der Bayerischen Elektrizit\u00e4tswerke M\u00fcnchen-Landshut, hatte aus M\u00fcnchen die Leidenschaft f\u00fcr den Tennissport mitgebracht und es geschafft, den Virus innerhalb der Gesellschaft Museum so zu verbreiten, dass man im Jahr 1908 eine eigene Tennisabteilung gr\u00fcndete.<\/p>\n<p>Von der Stadt N\u00fcrnberg wurde hierzu ein Grundst\u00fcck am Ufer des Dutzendteichs gepachtet, auf dem die erste Tennisanlage errichtet wurde.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"209\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Aus dem \u201eNachlass\u201c der gro\u00dfen Bayerischen Landesausstellung im Luitpoldhain im Jahr 1906 konnte man ein aus Baumst\u00e4mmen gezimmertes zweigeschossiges gesellschaftliches Treiben. Maibowlen und Sommerfeste waren bald mindestens so wichtig wie das Schlagen von B\u00e4llen und das Austauschen von H\u00f6flichkeiten auf den drei Tennispl\u00e4tzen. Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich wurde von den Damen im langen Kleid und mit Florentinerhut und den Herren in anfangs noch langer Hose gespielt. Wo mehr als 25 Jahre lang Freizeitsport und Geselligkeit die Szene beherrscht hatten, musste nun Platz geschaffen werden f\u00fcr ein N\u00fcrnberger Kolosseum, das in den See hineinwachsen sollte.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"gm-image-shadow gm-border-radius alignleft wp-image-4245 \" src=\"https:\/\/gesellschaft-museum.de\/tennis\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/tennis-geschichte-05-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"tennis-geschichte-05\" width=\"360\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gesellschaft-museum.de\/tennis\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/tennis-geschichte-05-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gesellschaft-museum.de\/tennis\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/tennis-geschichte-05.jpg 619w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr den gewaltigen Bau der Kongresshalle im Zuge der Errichtung des Parteitaggel\u00e4ndes der NSDAP musste der Uferbereich an der Baustelle gro\u00dffl\u00e4chig aufgesch\u00fcttet werden. Die ehemaligen Tennispl\u00e4tze sind weitgehend unter dem wuchtigen Bauk\u00f6rper des Hufeisens hinter dem heutigen &#8222;Serenadenhof&#8220; verschwunden.<\/p>\n<p>Dank seines Verhandlungsgeschicks gelang es dem damaligen Vorstand der Tennisabteilung im Jahr 1936, von der Stadt ein Ersatzgrundst\u00fcck am Ende des Tullnauparks an der Ostendstra\u00dfe zu bekommen. Nicht gro\u00df, im Gleisdreieck mit der Ringbahn gegen\u00fcber der Zeltnerbrauerei (dem heutigen Norikus) gelegen, aber ausreichend f\u00fcr vier Pl\u00e4tze und ein kleines Tennishaus. Die Tennisanlage entstand mit viel Eigenleistung neu und ist bis heute am gleichen Ort wieder ein Platz f\u00fcr Entspannung und Geselligkeit. Aufgrund ihrer etwas versteckten Lage und des Umstandes, am Ende des Tullnauparks nicht erweiterbar zu sein, ist die Tennisabteilung der Gesellschaft Museum immer famili\u00e4r und neben dem Sport vor
